Taman Negara National Park, an eco-tourist’s haven, covers an area of 434,350 hectares and is over a 100 million year-old tropical rainforest sanctuary to countless birds, animals, plants, insects & fish. It also includes the Peninsular highest peak, Gunung Tahan at 2,187 metres.
This verdant un-spoilt park has unique flora & fauna, spectacular caves, cool fresh waterfalls and exhilarating mountain peaks.
Here, at Taman Negara, you can go trailing through the jungle canopy walkways that will lead you to observation hides, where visitors can get a glimpse of wildlife. Other exciting activities include fishing, bathing in the cool clear pools and shooting the raging rapids.
Located next to the Park Headquarters is Taman Negara Resort, which is equipped with chalets, camping grounds, a coffee house & a cafeteria. If you go about 3 km upstream from this resort, you will find Nusa Camp, a popular place offering chalets and camp sites.
There are also Orang Asli settlements in Taman Negara where one can observe the lifestyle of the aboriginal people.
